Biodiversity and Conservation Ecologist

About

Xilona Blanco is a dedicated conservation professional with expertise in wildlife research, conservation technology and community engagement. With a global track record spanning Latin America, tropical Asia, and Europe, she combines practical fieldwork with in-depth research and applies Lessons Learnt in order to develop and implement effective conservation strategies. Through leveraging innovative technologies such as ecoacoustics, drones, and AI-driven solutions, Ms. Blanco is able to advance evidence-based approaches to biodiversity protection. Being passionate about tropical ecosystems, indigenous cultures, and interdisciplinary collaboration, she brings a creative, adaptable, and proactive mindset to every project. Outside of work, Ms. Blanco enjoys horse riding in Andalucía, playing rugby, dancing bachata, and creating wildlife artwork.
